@Thomas: Nope :)

Hopefully this new version will increase the use of the All-Seeing Eye, its a superb alternative to the normal lobby, and its always online too :)

@Chrono: Only admins can PM another player
If your ingame, just press / and then press F1 and the scoreboard will come up, with ID numbers next to player names... then you just type "/pm 2 IM SECRET LOL" (replace 2 with the ID next to the person you want to message)

Great changes! But one thing I wish was completely fixed was the,
'changing teams and the 50/50 chance of getting kicked out or not' -_-

Because that requires the soldat client being updated. Trust me, we did try and fix it.

Isn't this a bit much to be kicked? Shouldn't it be 6, or 4?

- Added command to send a Private Message to players. (Admin Only)
/pm # Message (Cannot use player names)
What do the players see? A [SERVER MESSAGE]? And can in-game admins do this?

- Modified players lose 1 kill for typing /kill or /brutalkill.
Is this reminiscent of the old Soldat versions?

- Added Team Kill punishment. Enable by changing 'PunishTK=1' in soldat.ini
How are they punished? Because accidental TKs happen all the time.

Thank you for the update though. The are some great improvents here that ARSSE could make use of.

Nice job indeed!
Do I smell a partnership forming?
Although I don't think EnEsCe knows Borland Delphi...

He knows Delphi. Delphi is very similar to VB, so even if you dont know it, it's easy to learn.

Great changes! I hope these are implemented on the aussie servers soon.

Also, did you fix the wrong map version when you have WM and cusotm map>?

I talked to EnEsCe about this; the bug is an issue in both client and server so it won't be fixed until the next client release. The bug has nothing to do with weapon mod servers; it has to do with maps that have less than 4 scenery textures used, as MM said in another topic. Any map can be fixed by modifying it to have, for example, 4 -different-(as in, different filename) crates placed somewhere unimportant.

TK Punishment:
Lets say you set your TK warnings to 5. If a player kills somone twice, nothing happens. Once the player has (# of Warnings / 2), the player will be /kill'ed for every TK he makes and a server message will say 'soandso has been punished for TKing (Warning 3/5)' to that player. Once he reaches 5/5 warnings, he is kicked and banned for 5 minutes.
Its only a basic system.

Could you make commands visible in console log? so if more than one admin is connected, then they could see each other's commands in the console and so on (they even could chat - hope they won't)

Yes exactly. It needs a client fix. I can't tell when :].

what about mercy?

chrisgbk
June 6, 2006, 10:42 pm
Maybe he was merciful and won't take a kill away from you? Remember, /mercy isn't instant, where /*kill is. People often abused this in deathmatch-style games, where they would kill someone in a group of people, then kill themselves so other players wouldn't get kills.

Think this is the first suggestion I have seen approved. Proof I haven't been around here that long. Regardless, It will help with one of the features I had planned for SolDoc. Now if I can only find the time to get back to work on it....

Elephant_Hunter

Here are some more nifty ideas I suggested that have since been implemented...

Player-Specific Server Messages: http://www.soldatforums.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=25713
Vote Poll: http://www.soldatforums.com/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=17107

The vote poll suggestion actually included a screenshot that looked similar to the vote poll we currently have. Be sure to post a plausible suggestion, a reason to implement that suggestion, and a means to get it done. Doing so will vastly increase the chances of something being done. At the very least, you will have a good discussion.

I added the /pm thing cuz I suggested it ages ago to MM but never got done, not cuz of that topic ;)
