*evil laugh* you seem to be what the internet calls 'n00b' or 'NeWBiE'. A mod is a short word for modification and it means you change something , or atleast in the gameworld. ex CS is a modification for HL , but in this case(soldat) only the looks changes ex. interface and weapons , and you should have two soldat installed one soldat-mod one soldat-original and istall mods on the soldat-mod folder , hope you understand
