Keeping track of how many kills

This has probably been mentioned before but oh well. I was thinking that somehow the server(or something) would keep track of how many kills you have in proportion to how many times you've died and associate that proportion with a certain rank. And if the server(or something) saved the data it would give you a rank everytime you played on it.[?]

Just a rough idea, because I was looking forward to finding something that kept track of how many kills and deaths I've attained.

Look in your Soldat folder....there is a folder in there called Logs....inside there, you will find the kills folder....then look in that, and you will have all of your kills! :P

Oh ... and how do you make your guy yell.... like after you kill somebody. He'll raise his arms and yell.

does the log folder tell you a rank?

cause it would nice if it gave you a rank depending on how many kills
you have like:

0-5 NOOB
5-10 RECRUIT
10-15 CAPTAIN
15-20 GENERAL
20-25 COLONEL
25-30 MASTER
30-Higher GRAND MASTER

maybe somethin like hat
(LOL :) like the forums)

Exactly!!

Are there anymore alt hotkeys, or a way you can set it up so you can say 'cover me' real quick?

yes you can.

opening your taunts.txt will allow you to do that

other alt hotkeys are /tabac, /smoke, /takeoff.

those are alt+1, alt+2, alt+3

A ranking thing based on kills?

Evo, going by your number, it would not be hard to reach Grand Master in more than two games....

I just added up my server stats using the server stats proggy made by Creeq and it says *I* alone have over 5,000 kills on my server. Ninga (Bluesfear) and all of his other names added together has about the same number, and there are a lot more people with over 3,000 kills on there....I hope you were keeping those numbers small on purpose! ;)

Don't get that.....last time I tried it, the thing was really messed up and hard to understand....search the forums for it man! You always tell others to search for stuff....now it's your turn!

Erm....I know lots of people who can get 10 kills in one minute....It would have to be really really high man....lol did you read what I said? I have over 5,000 KILLS on MY OWN server.

40 kills is one game for a lot of people, evo....

What kill number do you and Sniper and Terminator play to?

How about a ratio thingy like suggested in an earlier post?

Ie - Total_Kills / Total_Deaths = Rank

Rank score equals...
0 - 0.5 = Noob
0.5 - 1.0 = Recruit
1.0 - 2.0 = Lieutenant
2.0 - 3.5 = Major
3.5 - 5.0 = General
5.0 - 10.0 = Master
10.0+ = Grand Master

So basically, you'd need 10 kills for every one death to attain the rank of Grand Master, and 1 kills to 1 death ratio to break even and not be a Noob :). You could even tag the weapon used most in there too, ie - Grand Master <name> Eagle Warrior, or Major <name> Barrett Stalker ;)

It'd mean Rotmos was a Major Rotmos Eagle Warrior... not bad at all :)

fine fine fine.....

maybe rankings wernt the best idea. :(

I think ranking is a great idea, that way people who are really
good can get more respect. Not only that but it's a good intimidation factor.

May 11, 2003, 3:42 am
What they laughed at was not the idea, but the degrees, you see, 40 kills are achieved in a casual game, its not hard for a newbie to get 10-20 kills in his first days........

Soldat is a really fast thing, do you expect that a player that played for monthes only to kill 40 soldats?! wtf?! use your minds!

SirPike

Best way to do it is to use a ratio of kills versus deaths.

N1nj@
May 12, 2003, 12:45 am
that would be a good idea too

enjoyincubus
May 12, 2003, 1:54 am
Yeah, except I like to go AFK in the middle of a game....I come back, and I look like a n00b! I have 1 kill for every 20 deaths! :P

Also, would the stats be erased when you change your name at all? How does it know who is playing? By the profile? Well, sometimes my sister plays and changes the name, and I don't have Soldat registered...guess my ranking would be destroyed completely....

i think it should be a ranking at server side so every server your a different rank so u would have like 3 different ranks on 3 differnt servers and it would be hard to get all 3 at the same rank unless your really good

N1nj@
May 12, 2003, 9:32 pm
it should be determine by the name

if some1 uses your name, then your rank will accord to him

Joe_Blow
May 12, 2003, 10:32 pm
I too think the server end should keep track of the rank (with SirPikes idea) and doesn't the server read some type of cookie or incoming address from your computer. That's how it will recognize you and your rank.

And Shadow, if you let your sister play or whoever, tell them not to play on the servers you are trying become a grand master at.
