hey michal or anyone who knows, does Michal work alone or with friends or is it some sort of team working on Soldat? Coz i dont think/know that michal can do such an amazing game all by him self :)

I've been wonderign this ever since i started playing Soldat, so anyone who knows please tell me and dont flame me and michal if your reading this, gj on the game , we all love it [:I]

I'm pretty sure he does all the programming and stuff for the game himself. He may ask someone for help with different ideas for ways to code certain aspects of the game. But I think other people do help out with new scenery graphics or with ideas for new levels, etc.

I don't agree with you on this. Updates would be released faster, but it wouldn't be Soldat. Michal should do all the programming by himself because he knows Soldat best. Other would mix something up etc. causing a bug.
But of course supporting him is welcome I think.

Don't you get it?
Michal programmed Soldat all by himself. He knows the code, names of the functions etc.
Then some new guys come in and want to "help" him by screwing up the code.
We're part of the team that thinks of the ideas, Michal checks them or thinks of them by himself and the implements them by himself, too.

mayb michal has a "orginal team" when he started working on soldat

so all "hist members" will know the codes and names

and i m not saying you are wrong or anything...

Have you ever watched the Simpsons? It *was* an awesome show, until FOX realized how big it was becoming, and began hiring lots of script writers and designers, etc....Now, the show is still good, but it is nothing like it was 10 years ago.

So in Soldat, if there was a team that came in, and not everyone was on the same exact page, the end product would not be anything like it was envisioned to be. I believe it is best like it is now, without all the interference of others.

Question: Why DOES the lobby go down for more than 5 minutes? :P

If it never went down, then no-one would've bothered to get ASE...

But ASE doesn't seem to disply all the servers (eg. no linux servers)

So the Lobby is still good :)

Except it does go down fairly often :(

TRSSam: We do talk to you when the lobby is up, we ask you to create a dual 1.05b/1.1x lobby server and you dont, then I continue to annoy you about it at every opportunity lol [:P]. Having it a dual version lobby would be the only reason I would use it anywayz since ASE is always up and has much more features. Once the linux servers support ASE what will be the point of using the lobby server anymore?

I just want to know why not?!? [:(] Its not like we are saying 'we hate 1.1x', we are saying we like both and we'd like to be able to play 1.05b without having to use the forums to arrange the bloody game. I can't see why Michal would want to make it difficult for us...

I believe a donation would be great. He has to try to keep that lobby on 24/7, and I don't think that an internet connection comes cheap in Poland. To keep it on all the time, and the only time people talk to him is when the lobby doesn't work is wrong.

Heck, I'd be willing to set up a site devoted to making donations towards anything in Soldat! ;)

Well, I don't know if you guys have practiced any programming over your lives, but it is not a quick, easy process. When you make a successful proggie (alone, might I add), your time can quickly be squandered. If you didn't notice, Michal does have over 150 posts on here, so he does visit. But a game takes a lot of time out of you. And there aren't that many good suggestions that are even worth looking at. (no offense to any of you who start these "intergalactic star-wars/soldat mod" topics.)
