I don't know if you're aware of this, but if you try to play a game with no map selected, soldat dies with a 'file not found error'. A simple fix would be for the map combo-box to select the first map in its list as active default, instead of nothing.

It does not. If you just start up a game with no map selected, it will automatically pick the first map that you have for you. For example, in a DM game, it would pick Arena for you. Your version may be a little screwed, or at least it sounds like it...
