its like this:
u press T or what ever ur binding is to type, then enter message, but the last letter in the line will also be used ingame, see it like this;
my switch weapon is under binding E, i type a line like: that was lamE, and press enter and it switched wep.., same for reload under R
and wep drop with binding G, more ppl encountered the same prob? hope to see it gets fixed in the next version
