How much actual interest is there in 1.05b? Like if someone was to take the time to build a more cheat-protected server and a lobby server for public release would enough ppl be interested?

YES, bring lobby back to 1.0.5, that is the rteal soldat, it has the real feeling of soldat.

Well, I've got most of the 1.05b serverlist protocol figured out, I just need to figure out one or two more things and get michal's ok on releasing it [:)] dont blame me if he says no, dont get angry at him either, I can see reasons he wouldnt want it released.

It doesnt matter, the work isnt to hard, much of it is just reusing my old code from this or that.

Inevitable, however one would hope that anyone who wanted to play 1.0.5b wasn't a complete n00bie assh0le ;)

so is there a date set for completion yet? or just in the beginning stages?

It will be complete after I figure out the network protocol, almost there might release an incomplete version. As for the cheaters, well I am the guy who made the anticheat for 1.05b. Who knows? maybe I can do something about the cheaters as well.

i seem to remember something about an anti cheat for 1.0.5b when i first joined the forum. never had a chance to try it, though, since 1.1.0 came out just a few days later. how well did it work? and did it cause much lag, if any?

I never finished it properly like, it was a mess and had a tendancy to slow and lag servers if lots of ppl joined/quit. That can be fixed but 1.10 came out so I never got around to it.

so, is this like an outside prog, you click it and soldat runs through it? or some kind of add on?
