i recently upgraded my dsl from 1.0 megs download and 128 upload to 1.5 meg download and 320 upload as a free promotion. although i decided to op for Ultra high speed Version 2 from Sympatico. 4.5 meg download and 1028 upload. im currently awaiting a new modem that suports these speeds in the mail from sympatico. as soon as i do i will ahve to call them to initiate the new service. modem is expected arrive on tuesday. also i have a new pc on the way, and im planning on using this one for a dedicated linux server. it sucks, but i will upgrade the ram and processor speed to be 1024 SD ram and 533 mhz, seeing how my pc isnt too goood, its currently at 380 mhz and 512 SD ram.

if anyone has any suggestions as to map cycle, mode type, player max, weapon restrictions and ping kicks please post some here.

i hope to recreate bumpys World, cause that was a great server. it costs a bit, but itll be worth it, soldat is a great game that i'd like to give back to a bit,(not that its done anything GREAT for me like improove my health or anything). i want people to have a reason to play, knowing there will be one more lag free server.

it would be cool to have a ctf server. max 10, no minigun, all maps and not too high of a ping kick. but the server should be really cool i'm lookin forward to it

im not sure, CTF or death match, im not too crazy about infil or any other ones, but i could always set em up differant

Palloco, he doesn't even need that much CPU power or RAM. Especially when he's hosting a dedicated server.
I have a PIII 450mhz 384MB ram and everything's running fine.

EDIT: Why don't you make it Infiltration? You're always able to find a CTF server, but there's a lack of INF servers.

well, i like CTF better, but i guess we are lack of inf servers in the lobby list. Is your choice.

well if you want a lack of servers, make it rambomatch. no servers play that anymore.

Why not have both ctf and inf-maps in the cycle? Although the inf-maps would have to be played like in ctf... if you know what I mean.

I'd say INF on all maps, along with CTF ones, that should be interesting, or CTF on a good INF map such as outpost or warehouse. No bonuses, no S.Guns.

Spamming? WTF? Nades are made to be used, they're there to be thrown. A person who calls another a nade spammer obviously cant handle nades or cant dodge them.

In all the 1.1.x versions of Soldat there never was a problem with nade spamming. Back then, in 1.0.5b you were able to just hold down the 'Throw grenade' key and you would throw one grenade after another with full speed. Furthermore, the grenades were a lot more bouncy.

Today, there is no such problem with nade spamming, imho.

i could care less what type of gameplay the server has... the main thing is: active admin(s), password, and no lamers...

My vote would be DM, as we already have a very good CTF server, dnagames. Inf would be OK too.

ok! i got my new speed touch modem, and my new ethernet card. itll take 2 weeks for them to activate it server side because it isnt available in my area yet. however, something very scary happened to me. check out the ethernet card they sent me, it just so happens to be the best one( even though they all do the same thing), but, the name scares me more

i'd say go with Dm and change it to Inf every once in awhile... we kinda have good ctf servers...
shadownline--dnagames--and SS clan server-- all lag free with 10-20 players each so they can support about 50 ctf players and i havn't seen good servers for DM or inf at all :( all laggy :(

DM with the occasional inf match... but not a lot bcuz ppl dont play inf (i mean they dont look at inf servers), but your server looks to be great. keep up the good work, shiver.

we -played today, with 6 peeps as a private with the .bot guys and the bh guys, noone went over 200 ping, however im still waiting on dlink to call me back for i need some help.
