Hey, I finally got my servers working, but they don't register in ASE.

I have searched for an answer, and found various tips, but none of them worked. I have made sure I had register in ASE selected, and I checked Soldat.ini to make sure ASE_Register=1.

When I run Dedicated, it says

Registering server @ lobby.safeland.org
Registering server @ ASE
Registering server @ lobby.safeland.org
Trying to re-register
Registering server @ lobby.safeland.org
Trying to re-register
Registering server @ lobby.safeland.org
Trying to re-register

And it sticks with the trying to re-register throughout.

I appreciate any help.

Well I ran the dedicated and tried to find it in ASE but it wasn't there...so I presumed it couldn't register with ASE.

you have firewall or anyhitng like that? if you do, you have to forward ports

Is forwarding ports when you set the port redirection 23073 - 23083? If so, I already did that :)

no, ASE has a different port. *finding it*

ASE uses ports 27243-27245. hope that helps.

ya...the three ports: 27243, 27244 and 27245, you have to open all three. come back again and tell me did it work.

My adsl modem is evil. It came set with all our settings and won't let me change anything :'(

So I can't server very well... lol

People need to be forwarded through the lobby to join it.

Thing is, I'm not sure what to do at this point. Its all gone beyond my knowledge of ADSL routers and ports. I set one port redirection to start port - 23073 and end port - 23083 but where do I put these new ASE ports? I tried making another entry which was start port - 23073 and end port - 27243 but apparently you can't have the same port number in different places.

Hope you understand what the hell I'm talking about.

I normally have it hooked up to my switch, and then to my 5 compys.
But one day I tried hooking it straight up via USB to my main compy.

It refused to work! It's evil! lol

And I can't access the settings page on the modem.

I think it's something like

http://192.168.0.1/

But it just doesn't work :
They must have disabled it or something.

But on the bright side, I'm virus proof ^_^

Not had 1 single virus problem.

No SoBig, no Blaster, nothing! :)

But other than that it sux... lol

Hi!

I can't register my server to ASE.

When i check the open ports at my server with netstat -ln then this is the only Soldat port:

udp 0 0 *:23073 *:*

My server running Soldat Linux Server 1.1.5 BETA 3. No firewall is installed.

If you have a seperate dedicated server, set it for DMZ via the router and get something like Zone-Alarm Pro, and adjust ports from there - www.zonelabs.com

It's much easier to tweak ports with ZP Pro than messing with the router all the time.
