If you are having trouble running Soldat. You get a "3d initialization" error try this:
Start DxDiag (should be included with DirectX, search for it) and click the display tab, then click 'Test Direct 3d', if it works using the DirectX 7 interface but not the DirectX 8 interface then the problem can be resolved by 'Disabling Direct3D Acceleration' and then re-enabling it, test it again and if it works, so will Soldat.
