LOBBY SERVER

The lobby server address has changed. Please change it to be able to download the servers list. Please open lobby_servers.txt from the Soldat folder and replace 62.111.129.3 with lobby.safeland.org

SOLDAT LINUX DEDICATED SERVER 1.1.5 (BETA 3)

I decided to release one more beta of the 1.1.5 linux server before 1.1.6 comes out. It works with the lobby. Also a couple of bugs that should be fixed in beta 2 are fixed.
I disabled Soldat Admin in this version because it was causing instability. It will be back when the full release is out. Head on to the download page for the server files.

If you are wondering when Soldat 1.1.6 will come out I can say that in a week or longer. Currently I'm beta testing it to be sure that everything is good when it comes out.

well at least we know how long itll take, but 7 days = a friggin long time :)

eg. A friend got a linux server, he put a dedicated on his server. Will I still be able to moderate the server ?

Okay, third time messing around with this. My server has been running smoothly, except for that damned "wrong map version" bug that kicks off a lot of players. Also, it completly crashes if I set ASE_Register=1; but it works if it's set to 0... so for now, I've only set it to register with the main lobby server.

yay, now i have something to look forward to. The suspense is killing me, but whatever he adds i hope it'll turn out good.

i love the predator series. i've only seen the 1st one once when i was little though. i still remember most of it though.

Before I try it, does anyone know if the Linux Dedicated server works with FreeBSD? I'm planning on running a 10 players server, not sure on gametype, it's at a datacenter in California, athlon 1600 xp, 1 gig RAM.

Also, I read there is a problem with the Linux servers reporting to ASE, is that true?

Best method is to test it yourself... The LDS should run alright, I don't know how many people actually use ASE to connect to Soldat servers, so I wouldn't worry too much about that...

If you have FreeBSD installed, just stick the LDS on there and give it a try. If you don't have FreeBSD yet, I would suggest reading around and seeing how it worked for others.



Oh, and welcome back Michal!!! I hope we see some awesome new feature in 1.1.6.... But don't fix the para-bug, I like it. ;-)

It works! I'm testing it so the server might be up and down, and I'm trying to figure out best soldat.ini settings. But it seems to work great with FreeBSD.

Server name = West Coast

Please give it a try, apologies if server goes up and down, while I change stuff.

Yeah, it works on FreeBSD. My server's been running for about 2 or 3 days non stop with 15 players average and it hasn't crashed, yet. Although, everytime I join (locally), at some point in the game, it decides to dump a lot of users out of nowhere.
I would say only about 20% of soldat users actually use ASE, so ASE registration isn't really an issue.

I'm working on a soldat stats generator, kinda like http://stats.Zoite.net/antisocial.html but for soldat games. Michal, do you think you can make the logs be a little bit easier to parse? since nicknames can include spaces and slashes, there's no way to parse kills using regex... is there?

Also, I've seen people without a nickname, like nothing, "", null, zero, not a damn character; you think you can fix this?

Anyways, I've got most of the HTML and other code finished, I just need to get better logs to parse. Please change the logging syntax before releasing 1.1.6 if you can, it shouldn't be too hard. Something like this would be nice, even though it would take more than one line:

PHP is a server-side (i.e. parsed by the server) language used on webservers.
Guestbooks, message boards, counters etc. can be done with it. It also supports MySQL databases etc. :)
