Just go to 'Members' -> 'My Profile'
Type your password in, and enter your profile settings.
Then on the right of the screen in the 'Basics' section, look down the list until you find 'New Avatar' - then put the URL to your avatar in that.
Your Avatar is best as a JPG or a GIF, that's less than 100kb. However, it's good to keep it WELL below 100kb...
