i need a manual of modding i want do a halo mod

Too late to do a halo mod but ill give u sum tips on modding:
Ok, so modding soldat is graphics editing, sound editing and some text editing (weapon names), and because you cant change how soldat actually works, this change will only be for you, everyone else will see you however their soldat is set up.

Step 1 (deciding what to make):
When thinking about making a mod there are some things you must think about beforehand:

1.Subject: decide what you want to make your mod on.
2.Need: do people want a mod like that? this will decide the succesfullness of a mod
3.Sufficency: do the amount of guns/types of guns etc.. fit well into soldat?
4.Capability: Alot of modders fail when realising they've taken on something too hard, are you?

Step 2 (design):
So youve decided that your ready to start making the mod, where should you start?

1.graphics: take time experimenting with files in the -gfx folders. remember to back up soldat before this and read the FAQs found at the top of this forum for help.

2.sounds: go to various sources to find the sounds for the -sfx folders in soldat, again using the FAQs to help.

3.text: finally change the text in the txt/weaponnames.txt file to suit the names of your weapons.

step 3 (compiling):
of course it is up to you how you distribute the files you've changed, the best way is to create a new folder within which you create sub folders named the same as the folders of the modded files, then simply copy the modded files into these folders, put them in a .zip file and your ready to distribute your mod.

if your mod works and is worthy, then by all means post it on the forums (not forgettin screenies).

No kidding, and the Halo idea on soldat has been done before, and to tell you the truth, i'd rather be shooting bullets then..."Lazers" or..needles. Hehe, right, nice sig Zero, little fighters?
