Ok, so I asked how come my lobby server never gets the servers and gives me this little message about my connection not being set up, which it is... You guys tell me to get ASE, I did. Now whenever I join a game (Which is rare because ASE almost never works) it says after about 5 glorious seconds: "Access violation:(Some whacked out number like B34545769E3684A)"... HELP ME GUYS PLEASE!

Time to quote nightcabbage:
"Steps to solve access violation problems:
1. Never cheat, or attempt to cheat - it's the most common cause for this problem
2. Uninstall soldat
3. Delete the Soldat folder
4. Install soldat 1.1.5 + fix
5a. For Windows NT/2000/XP: Delete the file cmodule.dll in the 'windows\system32' folder
5b. For Windows 95/98/ME: Delete the file cmodule.dll in the 'windows\system' folder
6. Delete the file dxlog.chk in the 'windows' folder"
HA, beat you to it, cabbage!

I'm getting this same error out of the blue (I just installed a wireless bluetooth adaptor but that's about it)
I've never cheated, attempted to cheat, googled for cheats, thought about cheating or anything in any way, i'm sure k4d4sh can vouch for me being a [:-censored]ty newbie.
Reinstalled twice, have none of those files listed, and am running Windows XP SP1, it worked perfectly up to this morning

Ok update
It only happens online, I renamed the cmodule in the soldat directory to no effect, but I can play locally with 0 problems. (This is on a fresh reinstall + Patch)
If I say ok enough I get the following in the console
'Krab' (in green)
'Graphics Restart' (in red)
Any ideas?

If you have done the "Steps to solve access violation problems", and are still getting access violations, then there is a further problem. It can be rather hard to find the source of that problem ;)

i still have the old soldat file, with all my real soldat stuff in a soldat1 file, but when i try to erase the old one, it says it's being usedby another person or program. WHEN I HAVE NOTHING RUNNING!! ive looked throughout the wholesystem to delete anything with 'soldat' in the name. along wit hstuff accosiated with it(ASE, SSCC, winRAR)
should i just leave it? delete soldat and transfer it back to there?

Steps to solve access violation problems:
1. Never cheat, or attempt to cheat - it's the most common cause for this problem
2. Uninstall soldat
3. Delete the Soldat folder
4. Install soldat 1.1.5 + fix

5b. For Windows 95/98/ME: Delete the file cmodule.dll in the 'windows\system' folder
6. Delete the file dxlog.chk in the 'windows' folder
The 2 files you have to delete are
cmodule.dll - which is a Soldat specific library, so it won't affect anything else.
dxlog.chk - a little file that Soldat likes to use to store information in
Both are fine to delete, and will cause no problems (and will most likely return later).
