I use W for jumping. What you should be wondering is why E isn't faded and warped and melted because I'm quite the nade whore [^]

I suppose the top keys aren't affected because I use the pads of my fingers to press them...with A S D my fingernails sometimes dig into them while I hammer them down in the heat of battle (as evident by the grooves). Yes, this is what happens when you put a $10 keyboard and Soldat together.

I use a DDR pad...... What?? stop looking at me like that!!!!!! I love playing computer games but hate sitting around that long not moving.

(its homemade hard pad yes. Butcher an old keyboard and an old playstation controller, get some wood, ect. [:p])

BMF i use arrow keys and i owned ur ass 3 times in a Duel, VIVA LA ARROW KEYS

for some odd reason, the only key faded out of existance on my keyboard is the d. all other keys are half faded, the d is TOTALLY gone. weird.

and i use "WASD" just like any other FPS n00b. heh heh.

wasd for me too oh btw since 1.05b of soldat ive been through 3 keyboards cos of soldat, on my second keyboard the d key was jammed so far into the keyboard that it was impossible to press, i dont even wanna talk about the first, and now i have this thing which if im lucky will live for another 2 years

Im preety sure lefties use the numpad or the arrow keys....Fabman must be a lefty :P\I of course use wasd because i kick ass

Hmm.. I use middle mouse button (pressing the wheel) for throwing grens and rolling the wheel for switching.
The rest is located around awsd

Arrow keys: move, crouch, jump
ctrl: throw nades
shift:drop weapon
Numpad 0: prone
left click: fire
right click: fly
middle click: change wep
rotate scrollwheel: reload

That's how, and I dont ever have to move my hand. Of course, it helps if you have a scrollwhell mouse. I use arrows because I don't like memorizing the location of many small exactly the same keys... but that's just me.

Left click: Fire
Right click: Fly
F10: Open porn library
Rotate scrollwheel: Prone
YU: Chat, team chat

yeah, i dont use scrollwheel, but i will start doing it now =) and i only have 2 mouse buttons

shift for weapon drop is still kinda gay, so i am sticking to the traditional FPS layout

my key setup beats all yours
SAD: duh...movement
Spacebar: jump
E: throw grenade
R: reload
X: prone
C: drop gun
left click: shoot
right click: jet
scroll wheel: change wep
F: normal chat
Q: team chat

o yeh, and my keys are faded too, so im a vet! i rule!

haha, my arrow keys were completed faded, and I had to get new decals (Of course, I do also play RTCW, but mostly soldat now-a-days [:P])

awsd - take a wild guess
shift - nades
R - reload
mouse scroll - change weapon
mouse wheel click - prone
F - drop wep

I dont use CTRL, or X because they are hard to reach. Still thinking where to put Reload, i wish i could assign something to the space bar, it does not see be responding.

ok BMF here is mine, and i will repeat i owned u 3 times in a duel and i use arrow keys, and im not lefty spitz, here are my controls:

left-left arrow key
right-right arrow
jump-right mouse click
shoot- left click
fly-left ctrl
nades-0 on the numbpad(next to right arrow key)
Crouch- down arrow key
prone- up arrow key
change weapon-1 on the numberpad
drop- 2 on the numberpad

this layout trains me to be agile... uh... yeah.
and umm... it also teaches me not to fly, else soldat gets... erm... minimized.

What hand do you use to do what? Like do you use keys with your right hand, and mouse with your left? (As for me, I use my Left hand to press keys, and right hand to move mouse and im Right handed... is this normal? [:P])

i use the set setting (asd movement w jump e nades ect ect) and yeah i use my left hand for the keys and right for the mouse and i am righthanded

my key settings: see above, t's post.

i use my nabours dead cat

i gouge my fingers into its eyes sockets = fire
punch its nose = jump
snap its teeth out = nades
i sit on it = crouch
i lie down on it = prone
movement of tail = direction
when i loose i kick the [:-censored] out of it

I used to use space to jump but I didnt like it so I changed to W

Thats a perfectly normal thing to say after a random post like my last one

im key board only. cbf finding fresh cats 2 use, and the mouse takes 2 much effort :P
