I started my own server right, and whenever anyone connects to it, 5 seconds later they get disconnected, why? i have turned off my built in firewall wwith XP, what else could be the problem?

Hm.. maybe you ports are blocked because your in a Lan.. i think.. =/

I guess you have DSL or something like that.
How is your "internet cable" connected?
Is it Modem->YourComputer or Modem->Switch/D-link/Reuter->YourComputer

check your max client ping in config.exe maybe its too small

if the ports were blocked, they shouldn't even be able to connect at all. at least i think so.

hmm, well i have a linksys router, my max client ping is 1000. also, the cable modem comes from the wall and the router is hooked up to it. 2nd, my computers internet runs into 1 of the 4 ports on the back of the router. Any ideas from this info?
