Well, I know that you guys all probably know about the theft of the Half Life Source code, but if you don't, about 1/3 of the coding involved with HL2 was stolen a while back. It's set the game release back a bit, but it will prolly still be released by April of next year. I'll just post some links to screenshots...these are so awesome...I hope the Hammer Editor that they're using is much more advanced, or I'm going to cry. I've been mapping for HL and CS for only a couple of weeks, but I still know that the stuff they are doing there cannot be done with the map maker I'm using! >=
Oh, a little about the story, from what I've heard...supposedly the alien races have sorta begun to own humans...It's set in Europe. I don't really care much for Single Player anyway, as I only play multiplayer usually. It still looks cool! Way better than that one "Halo 2" game...:-P

You can't compare Half-Life 2 to Halo 2. IMO, Quake was better than Half-life. And Halo is better than Quake. And...

"Halo 2 is a lot like Halo 1, only it's Halo 1 on fire, going 130 miles per hour through a hospital zone, being chased by helicopters and ninjas... And the ninjas are all on fire, too."

You guys are crazy! H-L is the one and only! [:-gnasher] LOL It's not a stupid killing game like Quake. If someone like to know the story: You're a scientist that works on some huge machine that can send your from a -> b (like a time machine, but...) in some top secret base. Something gone wrong and some stupid aliens come from another dimention! And they wanna kill ya! The worst (spelling?) thing is, that the commandos accuse you for it and wanna kill ya too... LOL, and you are hiding, sneaking, running and trying to save the world from those aliens! BTW. Counter-Strike i a MOD of it...

umm Single player Half-Life was the best single player experience I ever had.
Im getting HL2 because the single player looks downright amasing. If you have ever watched the movies off steam you will know what i mean.

BTW those pics are faking old.....I was hoping for some new ones. :(

And Halo is Half life on fire, being chased through... and the ninjas are on fire, too.

And the story line: Aliens from another dimension, and some science guy has to save earth? Story line? I call a story line a war against man and alien, and alien winning, and the only people that can save them is a group of UNSC forces and a genetically enhanced cyborg. And then, the aliens find Earth, but the humans also find their homeland as well. Now thats a story line.

But Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is like Medal of Honor: Frontline on steroids, running through a minefield with explosive romote controlled cars blowing up all around it and Black Hawk helicopters shooting missiles at it while it backflips over a fence to a maximum security prison filled with the most dangerous criminals, whi have all been armed with grenades and rocket launchers.

Beat that.

If Halo has a storyline, does it mean that HL doesnt?

You know the first and most important and unique thing about the storyline in HL? That there is no background, it happens to you in person, so there isnt a background to start with, you whitness it all by playing, the game is perfectly scripted, like a movie.

Now most of the Human-VS-Alien stories have all of mankind united, but not Half-Life; The soldiers the goverment sent are there to kill EVERYTHING, including you and the scientists, and waht about these black agents and flipping women in skin suits? These appear to work for the guy in the suit, whom you encounter at the end of the game. The storyline is quite facinating, especially if you played Opposing Force, where you see the action from both sides.

I'd happily buy HL2 even if it didnt have multiplayer in it, just to see what happens with the storyline, and to experience the masterfully scripted singleplayer.
