Hello!
I just bought a new computer and when I start Soldat the menu is flickering...I dont know how I should describe it but it's like all the graphics are moving fromt eh left and the right contantly.

My graphic card is ATI Radeon 9800Pro and I have directx 9.0, In the config file I've also chosen "ATI Radeon 9800" and not "default"...either I choose it's still flcikering.

Im in desperate need of help!

I forgot to add one thing. If I start the Dedicated server ther is no flickering at all in the menu. But If I start the normal game it flickers alot....how come?

Just discovered another thingy...when I start my computer it's also flickering before I have gotten to the win xp login section (when its loading up with DOS-commands and BIOS)

Are you running the game in fullscreen or not? And what screen resolution?

Maybe the refresh rate is too high for your monitor. I heard that if the refresh rate is too high it can cause tearing on the screen.

Cbble - I run a 9800 pro without any troubles :)

First of all, make sure you have all the obvious stuff...

DirectX 9.0b
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=141D5F9E-07C1-462A-BAEF-5EAB5C851CF5&displaylang=en

Catalyst 3.9 driver set (Win XP)
http://www2.ati.com/drivers/wxp-w2k-catalyst-7-95-031028m-011774c.exe

Then do some more obvious stuff, like make sure your monitor is plugged in properly, so the cable isn't loose.

My config stats:

Graphics
Fullscreen - ON
Dithering - OFF
Antialiasing - OFF (always leave this off, you can turn AA on in the display properties menu for both ATI and vNidia cards)
Bitrate - 32
Refresh Rate - High (but put yours on Average or Default to try it out)
Video Adapters - RADEON 9800 PRO

More
Video Compatibility - OFF
Force Software - OFF
Blank screen while bonus fix - OFF
Texture Filters - Linear (just as with AA, set Anisotropic Filtering in your display properties)
Backbuffer Count - 2

Set your to that, coz we know it works :)

It's weird that it works with the dedi and not normally...

You got any sort of weird set-up going on there Cbb? lol

Also in my 3D settings for the card:

Direct3D:
Anti-Aliasing - 6x
Anisotropic Filtering - 8x
Anisotropic Filtering - Performance
Texture Preference - High Quality
Mipmap Detail Level - High Quality
Wait for Vertical Sync - OFF!!!!11one!!!!!!!11111eleven!!!!11 lol
TRUFORM? - off

oh hmmmmmmm

"Just discovered another thingy...when I start my computer it's also flickering before I have gotten to the win xp login section (when its loading up with DOS-commands and BIOS)"

There REALLY shouldn't be any problems at all at this stage...

Go into your BIOS and check to see if you've set everything right in there...

Nightcabbage I love you...marry me! =D

woooooooooooooohooooooo, now it works thanks to mr.cabbage here...I think it was that the refresh rate should be average instead of default as I had....
*gives tons of hugs and kisses to cabbage then once again starts to own at Soldat* :)
