Soldat itself is lagging

Since a while, Soldat lags on my Computer (not the server lags or something like that, soldat itself. happens offline, too). I don't know why. This hasn't been happening since I'm playing Soldat, and my Computer should be good enough, so that it souldn't lag because of this.

My system:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+, 1,6ghz, 256MB DDR Ram, Geforce 4 MX 440, drivers: Forceware 53.03 (happened with 52.16, too)

Can you help me? :|

Since when does Soldat lag for you?

You could try this: Open the config.exe, go to the Performance tab and disable "File logging".
This already helped someone, but it could be something else.

Close a few background programs, including any RAM defragmenters (e.g. RAMPage), because I'm running it on:

Celeron 1.1GHz, 128MB SDRAM, GeForce MX 440 with Forceware 5216;

with no computer lag at all, unless RAMPage is running, or someone's spamming me with MSN.

don't know exactly, maybe 3 or 4 weeks?

ok, i'll do, but why should it lag because of that now, but didn't lag because of that 2 months ago?

Forgot to write: Every background programs are closed

[Edit]
With a few things turned down or disabled, it seems to lag a bit less, but I'm not really satisfied with the performance..

[Edit²]
I've just notice, that the cpu load (?) is at 100%. that isn't normal, is it?

Maybe you have some sort of virus, try scanning for viruses.

It's normal :)
Soldat tries to reach the highest frame rate, so it just needs 100% CPU.

Just press F3 in-game and you will see a little framerate counter.
Do what frogboy said, scan for viruses.

(btw, you don't have to double-post, you can edit your posts by clicking on that icon above your post [IMAGE] =)

nope, nothing found :( but I've heard the cpu-whatever normally is at 15-30% while playing soldat. why is it 100% on my computer? :( and yes, I've deinstalled and reinstalled it. maybe it's one of the new Forceware drivers for g-force cards (52.16 or 53.03). anyone else using it?

[edit]
i know that i can edit posts, but then nearly noone will look for the thread, because they might think "no new posts, no looks needed" :P
but, didn't find anything with scanning. but it seems to work better, if i change the priority of the soldat.exe. but, maybe i'm wrong, but i'm think it's still lagging a bit. but k, thanks for the help, guys :)

Well, the new forceware drivers decreased my framerate from 170 to ~70, so that might be the problem.

What's your framerate in Soldat?

Without Antialising:
-When nothing happens: 300-320
-In fights: 200-250
With Antialising:
-When nothing happens: 90
-In fights: 75-85
-and a lagging mouse cursor

but, even with 300 fps, i noticed the lag for example while jump down the hill at Lagrange.
