Hi! I'm new here, but there is a problem with my netplaying.
I can play on other peoples's servers, but on my own one - nobody there! ISDN (often 2 lines, 128kb)and doesnät lag very much when i play on my friend PTS's server. When he tried to join mine, it just told him "requesting game", i don't know for how long. I didn't recognize anything from when i hosted it...
What to do???

Make sure your firewalls not blocking Soldat's ports.

How to do that? Should i check with my (ZoneAlarm) firewall's settings? I mean, it asks me for permission whether or not Soldat should access Internet, or if it can accept connections or act as a server. Everything, yes answered - no difference... [:-weepn]

Or is the problem in Soldat? I don't have "Never forward clients" on. (which means i can forward them)

Easy. Just kill ZoneAlarm. you'd get less lag, because basically ZA lags it. On XP, enable ICF (Internet Connection Firewall), else, disable ZA just while hosting.

I have the same problem but i dont have a software firewall. There might be one built into my router but i am not sure.(its a d-link wireless router)

Hmm... So off with ZoneAlarm when hosting servers Not a bad idea, but ICF? How do i get there and enable it?

In XP u go to control panel then to the network settings. Right click on your internet connection and click properties. I think its somewhere in there. I can't check cause i am at school.

I have a LAN, my friend too (that's same), but when I host server, he can't go in. Write: requesting game and do nothing or forward game et cetera. What we can do?
