and its a lil annoyin when "new" ppl come in there...please?
help me guys!!!tell that you want it!!!

Don't really care if it is change or not. Cause no matter what, the "new" people will still know the pass eventually. So there is really no point, maybe one or two "new" people won't go there, but since this forum is so active, more and more "new" poeple will come in there :P

Bacisally there is no solution to this unless DNA.styx made two server, one for "new" people and one passwored for "old" poeple. But we talked about that before and agrued and agrued, so I guess I should stop now. Good luck with the changing password :D

i think it should be changed every 1st of every month, that would be nice

blue, the pass change would limit the amount of players for quite a while. the pass mostly goes by word of mouth, it would take a while for the same amount of players to get the pass. and it would help bluesfear, even if its for just a few weeks.

1st of every month would work. New players have plenty of other servers to play on and some of the vets and older players would like their own place to play away from new players.

Just change the server DNS. N00bs think the server's down, everyone else knows it's not, everyone's happy.

changing passes does not help if you keep posting them on the forums. Its a proven fact

Well, make it so everyone over a set IQ amount/post count can join a special forum which shows the password and stuff. Styx makes sure everyone's not star hunting, in the last week alone he's given out 2 or 3 star fines and a warning.

What's the big deal? Most of the newer people I see in there get rocked in about 4 seconds anyways and leave. Besides, all everyone even does in that server is talk; it amazes me that points even get on the board at all sometimes.

the problme is not the new players
the problem is that the self called "vets" cant stand having to play with ppl that may not be as good as them, but are still killing them over and over.
and why ppl talk so much? well, cuz most of the ppl that go there knows each other, some hate each other, some are friends, so they talk, when u go to random servers u dont say more than "ns" and "gg", cuz u dont know them much.

umm solution that worked pretty well before...offically post that dnagames.net server is down... and just run the server and not register in lobby...with a dif pass...and only give the pass to me...and i'll give it to whomever i feel like it :-P

Now that I think of it, that is a bad idea. How about styx just gives the password to a select group of people, people that are:
a) active on the forums; and
b) don't lag or annoy anyone.

Sounds like a good plan, but everyone annoys someone. ....that and I have a narrowband connection, which would exclude me. Meh, it's probably for the best anyways. I loathe t3h lag, too. *shrugs it off*

Damn, Frogboy stop saying that only people with a number of posts or selected in whatever way can join. That would only create spammers. For once I agree at changing the password, not because the newbies but for example 2 days ago a guy was afk for 5 hours or so. But do not change it each first day of months, then people would come here just for that periodically. Just do it sometimes.

but the people with "high" post count would give other people the pass, people who they think are reliable and that belong to DNA

well..when the password was changed there were only good ppl in there for a wile, we jus shouldnt be allowed to post the pass in these forums...

I guess they could get a list of every reliable person in the forums now

I believe the pass should change each month.

What does this stop? This stops people who visit the forums once a year from continuing their antisocial ways, and forces them to at least come 12 times a year.

It keeps players who cannot play away, and makes them either find another server or play with Danko and Terminator. It has the ability to keep the place cleaner.

Think of the password as a filter. You have 10 people. Five of them are responsible forum-goers who hang out here. They check the forums every day or so for announcements. They are wanted on DNAgames. Two are very dirty people. They love to go onto servers and screw around with the chat, talking badly about different races and about people's mothers, etc. The other three have just downloaded Soldat and have not found the forums yet. They cannot play worth crap.

Now, when there is a password, things turn out good. You have 5 good people on, maybe 1 dirty person, and 1 n00b. That leaves the server a little open. Each month, with the change of password, that n00b and the dirty people must find the new password. They eventually get here, and get pushed into place. Either they embrace the community, get banned from DNAgames and the forums, or just go to other servers. It's a win-win-win situation. :)
