Happy new year 2004!

Some changes for Soldat at the beginning of the year. Please read:
The Soldat lobby server has been changed. The new servers server list address is 65.169.85.3
In order to download servers in the game you have to change the address. To do that simply download the new file from here - lobby_servers.txt and replace it in the Soldat folder.
Soldat 1.2 is coming, it won't be long now.

I have been waiting for the new version 5 months, and now, when I quit Soldat, you want to release it? Just like that?!
You are cruel! [;)]

the v1.1.5 server can't (modified .exe) but the beta server can/could.

That's a comment for the beta testing forums ;)

(btw. Fixed link to lobby_servers.txt on main page, thanks DNA.Styx).

Michal, wouldn't it be a little more convenient to create a subdomain (something like lobby.soldat.pl) and set that in lobby_servers.txt? That way you can just point the subdomain to the lobby's IP, and change it any time you feel like it.

What? I don't understand.
Instead of having every single user modify lobby_servers.txt, Michal could just create a subdomain and redirect it to whatever the new IP of the lobby is, everytime it changes.

In what operating system? On all Linux distros I've used, shutdown -h now "shutdown message goes here" works perfectly fine.
quote:Taken from shutdown's manpage on Linux
SYNOPSIS
/sbin/shutdown [-t sec] [-arkhncfF] time [warning-message]
...
-h Halt after shutdown.
...
The time argument can have different formats. First, it can be an absolute time in the format hh:mm, in which hh is the hour (1 or 2 digits) and mm is the minute of the hour (in two digits). Second, it can be in the format +m, in which m is the number of minutes to wait. The word now is an alias for +0.

Exactly. It would be too easy to make a subdomain.

There used to be a domain name for the lobby server, lobby.safeland.org.
So, I assume the option has been examined, and I would suspect the cost of maintaining a domain name (they do cost money to register, right?) outweighs the advantages. I mean it's not like the lobby server IP is changing all the time.

the idea with the subdomain is good and comfortable for us all but it would be a problem if the soldat homepage would be down so the subdomain couldnt redirect to the lobby. in this case nobody would know the real lobby ip and we cant use the lobby till the homepage is up again. would be little annoying i think. if the webspace provider is a good one and the homepage 24h a day up it would be cool :)

in most of all cases subdomains are free, it would be no financial problem for michal to make lobby.soldat.pl ;)

1.Lobby servers aren't free.
2.All computer systems crash from time to time.
