Maybe because it isn't throwable? :)

It was throwable in the last beta after the flamer bonus is done.

This bug still exist in the RC version, you can throw the flamegod in non-dedicated, but not in a dedicated server.

Also, when you hold 'f', the throw button, as you pick up the flamgod bonus, your flamethrower disappears but yet the timer of the flamegod bonus goes on and you are unable to switch weapon.
