Well, I've just tested it in the beta server and SOMETIMES when I changed team I still respawned in the other's team base in the same possision I was.
Ex. I was blue, switched into red but respawned in the same point (as RED) :O
it didn't happened all the times, it might be coz of the selfkill server which is realy bugged (and freezing once a while) but it also could be coz of the version :X

hmm, it happened only after I moved from the respawnpoint.

Also, another bug related to spawning:

If you join the server while map is changing, you spawn in a weird location like in middle of the map. Haven't tested this in 1.3.1 but it happens in 1.3.

It happened last time I played the beta, I think that's also what causes you to download the wrong map.

Yeah thats one of the reasons for wvm for sure. And some times as DS said you dont get wmv, but you respawn in the middle of the map.
